True friends

           Today’s topic relates with friends. What is the three qualities of true friends? People think about this topic at least once in their life. Friends, in my perspective, are the most important thing that you need in your life. This is because you can rely on them if you have hard times, you can also share good news with them and laugh together. Now, the three qualities of true friends that I think of is trust, help, and share.

           True friends are the important factor in a person’s life because they not only are next to your side whenever you need them, but also they are ready to hear all the stories. The first quality of true friends is trust. Trusting a person might be hard, but if you know that you trust a friend, that friend is a true friend. I thought about trusting a friend and I came up with this conclusion that if you trust a person enough, you can trust them with your life. I thought of this as being on a cliff and someone holding on to you. If you trust a true friend, the friend won’t ever let go off your hands. However, if you don’t trust that person, you won’t be able to risk your life or give the chance away. Trusting is one quality of true friends.

           Another quality of true friends is helping. Helping is far the most important quality in my opinion. True friends will help you anytime no matter what. When you face difficult time, you always need a hand to rely on and a shoulder to rest your head on. True friends are the only ones who can provide a hand and a shoulder when you have a difficult situation. When I was in Korea, I had a friend who I thought was a true friend. However, when I actually needed his help, he wasn’t there. True friends will always be next to you no matter what happens.

           The last quality of true friends is sharing. This is also important because to be a true friend, you need to share your feelings and thoughts to them and try to relate them to yourself. A good or true friends start with a conversation, actually all relationships start with conversations. When you talk to someone, you always try to look at it on their perspective. This is a good quality of a true friend because if you share your feelings, the person would also feel the way you are feeling. There is a saying that if you share your happiness, it doubles, and if you share your worries and sorrows, it reduces to half. This is true because if you share a good feelings with your friends, it will make you and your friend both happy. If you share your worries and sorrows, they can take that feeling and try to move on with it together by suggesting resolutions.

           Friends are important in a person’s lives. There are friends who only try to get friends because they want to use them, and there are friends who are truly your friends. In distinguishing them, there are three qualities that I follow. Those three are trust, helping, and sharing. If you can do all three of these, then that friend is a true friend.

Human's Greatest Strength

             Today’s blog topic is deciding what the greatest strength of human is. In my opinion, I think that head and thinking is the greatest strength of a person. This is because with knowledge and intelligence, you can do many things, but with no knowledge, you won’t have many chances. Knowledge is considered the most important aspect of a person. There is an old saying in Korea which is that even if you go into the tiger’s den, if you have your mind all set, you can escape. All the people who succeeded have knowledge and has advanced and earned a lot of money through their knowledge. I believe that knowledge and intelligence is the most important and greatest strength of a human.

             Many people might think that strength and power is the greatest strength. However, I found out that there are so much things you can’t do with just only power. There are many people who think that they’ve got everything because their power. If it comes down to arguing, the person with power and strength will only trust in their punches or kicks. However, the person with intelligence might sort the things out and make the relationships better. The person with knowledge might tell him to calm down and explain what is going on and make him understand, and he might be able to change the person’s mind.

             Another reason why intelligence and knowledge is important is because it increases your social skill. When you go to college or any places where you are not used to, it is easy to get lost and feel isolated. However, if you have knowledge, you can relate that to the topics that the people are talking about and maybe get friends. With much diversity among people, knowledge is one key which you need to become friendly with the foreign people.

             When I was young, the usual saying that I got from my parents were that to gain respect and better treatments by fellow people is to gain knowledge. As I grew older, I started to believe and think that this is a correct saying. When you become older, you start to work in companies and factories. The thing that most companies look at is how you can use your knowledge. Knowledge is important because it can get you better opportunities in your field of work. The one thing that my parents focus on me is to get knowledge in foreign languages. They said that if you know more than 1 languages which is your first language, you can have a better job and better salary. This might be true because there are many companies who are looking for people who can speak different kinds of languages and who can get along with them easily. Especially in hotels, they look for people who can speak foreign languages because they need someone who can translate what the customer is saying.

             With the people challenging in the society for better jobs and respect, there are many things that you need to achieve and learn. In my opinion, what I think is that knowledge is the important key to achieving better jobs and respect. Not only it improves your social skills, but it also can get you respect over fellow workers or friends.

Big school or small school!

             Do I favor big school or small school? In my opinion, I believe that small school is better than big school. This is because I think that when you’re in a smaller school, you get to know your teacher and friends better than when you’re in a bigger school. If I was to choose between big school and small school, I would choose big school.

             The first main reason why I favor small school is that you get to know your teacher and friends better than when you’re in big school. I honestly do not know what the bigger school seems like because all the schools I went in Saipan are small schools. However, when I was in elementary school, my school was big. There were about 5 classes for one grade level. This was the reason why I had friends only in my classroom. However, when I came here, my first school that I went was San VIncente and Dan Dan. These two schools were not small but not big as Korea. In this school, same as Korea, I made friends that were only in my classrooms and I didn’t know a lot of students and teachers in my grade level. When I was 6^th grade, I moved to a smaller school which was Calvary Christian Academy. This was a small school that had only one classroom for one grade level. After being to both big and small schools, I think that small schools are better. When I was in CCA, I had many friends not only in my classroom, but also in higher grade level classroom. I had close relationships with the teachers in CCA, and I liked being there.

             However, there are also an advantage in attending a big school. The main reason would be that there would be more cultural differences and many different types of students. This is good because when you go to college, you need to face many different types of people and different types of cultures. Attending big schools would be good in that it prepares you for college, to be familiar to different types of cultures. When I was in Dan Dan Elementary School, there were many different types of ethnicity. Starting from Koreans to Chinese to Chamorro students. This gave me a wider perspective toward many different things. I knew how to please a Chinese friend and how to please a Korean friend. Cases like this would prepare not only for college, but also it will make me into a better person because it makes me look not only into one type of eyesight, but many. I now can feel how Koreans, Chinese, and Chammorro people feel, and how to be close with them.

             Small and big school have its different advantages and disadvantages. Small schools make people more united, and big schools give you a more wide variety of your perspective toward people, things, places, and many others. If I was to go to a big or small school, I would definitely choose smaller schools.

What do I want to teach my children?

             What would I teach my children when I grow up? Today’s topic is easy because I think about what my child would look like when they’re old. Every parents’ minds are same because they want to give the best to their children and teach all they could. However, most things that the parents are trying to teach their children are the things that they had no chance to do so. My dad and my mom always tell me that they want me to learn different kinds of skills. My dad told me that he’s teaching me English because he know that it is important in my life. He says that if he learned English, he would have been better off. The next thing they emphasize is golf. Golf is a sport that you need to play when you grow up. This is extremely important in a adult’s life when they become old and start their business life. Just like my dad, I want to teach many different types of sports and activities if possible.

             The first thing I would like to teach my children is playing golf. This is because I believe that when you become old and become successful, there would be many times when you will play golf. I heard that when you go to the army in Korea, if you are good enough and do field lessons with the army general, you would have many free time off and get more respect. This is the first reason, and the next reason is that when you go out to business, there are many times when you bet money to golf games. In order to win those games, you should be good at golf. This is the reason why I would like my son to play golf.

             Next thing I would like my children to learn is foreign languages. In today’s societies, there are many times when you need to communicate with people who speak different languages from you. I believe that this is important because being able to speak many different languages will give you better opportunities toward jobs. I heard that when you can speak 5 different languages, you are better off than people with 3 different languages. And another reason why I want my children to learn foreign languages is because I think that foreign languages are a good source of job. You can work in a hotel, and act as a translator and get a lot of money. If you get into the habit of learning new languages and using them, you will have a good social life when you become older. This is because you will be able to communicate with people from other countries, and be more close with them.

             I would like to teach my children many different kinds of things including golf, foreign languages. These would be necessary to be successful in their lives.

Should Saipan International School require students to wear uniforms?

             Should Saipan International School have uniforms or not? This is today’s topic. This is a reoccurring topic in most of the schools. I’ve been to schools that require uniforms and schools that don’t. There are both advantages and disadvantages for both. Schools that have uniforms would be more united and have a distinct feature. Schools without uniforms will have their own type of way of showing their personalities. If I was to choose, Saipan International School should not require the use of uniforms.

             Uniforms have advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages in wearing uniforms are that you have to wear same clothes everyday and you will kind of feel bored. Another disadvantage would be that you won’t be able to express your feelings through uniforms. Some students express their personalities through the way they dress up. If you wear uniforms, everyone would look the same and none of them would have their kind of way of styling. However, there are advantages to wearing a uniform. The first advantage is that you don’t have to think daily of how you will be looked upon by other classmates. This is important because if you don’t have uniforms, you stay in front of your closet thinking of which clothes to wear. This is both time consuming and it requires useless time. Another advantage of having a uniform is that you won’t be left out when people are discussing about styles. In schools that require uniforms, all students dress the same, so when people tries to make fun of the way they dress, they are making fun of themselves at the same time. If all students are wearing the same uniforms, there will be less teasing and isolation going on.

             I think that students should be able to wear what you want to wear to school. There should be restrictions on what they wear so they don’t wear anything too inappropriate or exposing or anything like that, but at least not the same thing over and over again every single day. With juts a few restrictions, it would be okay, but seriously no uniforms. It would just make school feel more like a prison rather than a place to learn and educate ourselves. It would bring down our mood and we would be gloomy and learning information would be so much harder because we aren’t happy and focused or interested in anything. Students should be able to not have to wear uniforms and be able to express themselves wearing different types of clothing for different events. Maybe this person really likes the color blue, schools shouldn’t force him to wear white day after day and have him hate it. Uniforms also make a school seem much more boring. All the students and kids there look exactly the same and its so plain, nothing interesting at all. 

             Saipan International School shouldn’t require the students to wear uniforms and let them wear whatever they want because it is somewhat a way to express their feelings and how they could make friends. It is a way of socializing in a school. And uniforms would restrict that.

If I was to bring someone back from the dead, who would it be?

The person I would like to bring back from the dead is Michael Jackson. If I was to bring him back from the dead, I would first serve him with my favorite food. Bulgogi. I heard that he came to Korean before and he enjoyed the time in Korea. When I was a young boy, I regarded him as a role model that I wanted to follow. He had good songs that many people liked and most people considered him as the King of Pop. Even in the generations of my mom and dad, he was considered the king of pop. Everyone practiced thriller and billie jean and tried to perform it on live. He is considered King of Pop not only because he was good at dancing and singing, but because he had this charm that many people liked and couldn’t resist.

Michael Jackson was called the King of Pop because he has been practicing dances and songs from when he was young. He was born on August 29, 1958, Michael Joseph Jackson is the seventh of nine siblings, Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Randy and Janet. The kids, including Michael Jackson was practicing secretly away from their parents.

The Jacksons' musical career started as Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael formed the Jackson 5 in the mid 1960s. The group that was signed to Motown Records in 1968 has opened the road to success, especially for the lead singer Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson didn't fail to succeed. After the Jackson 5 recording fourteen albums, Michael started his solo debut "Got to Be There" in 1972, which included singles "Rockin' Robin" and "I Wanna Be Where You Are." 

            

            Despite his success, everyone will face their destiny. He died of heart attack while he was on his tour to perform. When I first heard that he died from heart attack, I was so surprised. I searched online and it was the first headline in the news. Everyone was shocked that the king of pop died. It sounded like an awkward news because no one expected him to die. He was so popular and not old. He didn’t know that he was going to die and no one did. They said that he had a dance live in some part of the world that he was to perform. However, it was canceled because he died from heart attack.

             Having Michael Jackson come back from the dead to my house would be crazy and fun because he was my role model and I looked up on him. I wish he could come back from the dead and perform as if nothing ever happened.

Should computer games be allowed?

                Should games be allowed? When you are young, you encounter game at least once in your life. There are many advantages and disadvantages playing a game. There are a lot of types of games. My first encounter with games was when I played Maplestory. Maplestory is a RPG game where you hunt monsters and level up. Despite the simplicity, many people started playing and soon it was the number one ranking game in Korea. When I was young, I liked to compete with my friends and determine who was better. At this time, I stayed up until midnight playing the game. However, I later knew that it was bad for my health and eyesights. Therefore, I stopped playing that game for a long time.  As I grew older, I started playing Sudden Attack. Sudden Attack is a FPS game where you shoot other people and lead your team into winning. Everyone likes game and plays it at least one time in their life. However, would games be bad? And would people have to make it not allowed? I am for allowing games. Games should be allowed because if you know how to control, it releases stress, and gives you a fresh mind after all the hard works.

                Games should have their advantages and disadvantages just like any other activities. First advantage is that when you are stressed out from work and you want to relax, game is one way of dispersing the stress. When I was in 10^th grade, there were many times when I was stressed out because of school work and tests. However, I was able to go through this because I played the game Sudden Attack. This was the game where you shoot people. This released my stresss because it made me lessen my stress.

                Despite the advantages, there are also disadvantages. When you play video games or just any type of game, your eyesights become worse. This is the main disadvantages. Even though there are disadvantages, I still think that games should be allowed. Any other things have their own disadvantages. The only thing that a person have to watch out is not to be addicted to it. I saw many instances where a person got addicted to a game and couldn’t figure out the difference between the real life and the game life. They thought that the living world was a type of game. A person in Korea was known to be addicted to Counter strike. This was the game of shooting people. However, the person couldn’t control himself. He later went out and bought a gun and started killing people. However, this is only a small amount of cases. If you control yourself and stop, games would be a stress release and would be fun.

                Games are good and bad in both ways. They have advantages and disadvantages. The first advantage was that it would release stress. However, there are disadvantages that follow. The disadvantages include making your eyesights worse. It also makes the person addicted to it. However, if you control yourself to stop at the line between addiction and just playing for fun, you will be okay. Therefore, games should be allowed.
