Big school or small school!

             Do I favor big school or small school? In my opinion, I believe that small school is better than big school. This is because I think that when you’re in a smaller school, you get to know your teacher and friends better than when you’re in a bigger school. If I was to choose between big school and small school, I would choose big school.

             The first main reason why I favor small school is that you get to know your teacher and friends better than when you’re in big school. I honestly do not know what the bigger school seems like because all the schools I went in Saipan are small schools. However, when I was in elementary school, my school was big. There were about 5 classes for one grade level. This was the reason why I had friends only in my classroom. However, when I came here, my first school that I went was San VIncente and Dan Dan. These two schools were not small but not big as Korea. In this school, same as Korea, I made friends that were only in my classrooms and I didn’t know a lot of students and teachers in my grade level. When I was 6^th grade, I moved to a smaller school which was Calvary Christian Academy. This was a small school that had only one classroom for one grade level. After being to both big and small schools, I think that small schools are better. When I was in CCA, I had many friends not only in my classroom, but also in higher grade level classroom. I had close relationships with the teachers in CCA, and I liked being there.

             However, there are also an advantage in attending a big school. The main reason would be that there would be more cultural differences and many different types of students. This is good because when you go to college, you need to face many different types of people and different types of cultures. Attending big schools would be good in that it prepares you for college, to be familiar to different types of cultures. When I was in Dan Dan Elementary School, there were many different types of ethnicity. Starting from Koreans to Chinese to Chamorro students. This gave me a wider perspective toward many different things. I knew how to please a Chinese friend and how to please a Korean friend. Cases like this would prepare not only for college, but also it will make me into a better person because it makes me look not only into one type of eyesight, but many. I now can feel how Koreans, Chinese, and Chammorro people feel, and how to be close with them.

             Small and big school have its different advantages and disadvantages. Small schools make people more united, and big schools give you a more wide variety of your perspective toward people, things, places, and many others. If I was to go to a big or small school, I would definitely choose smaller schools.

What do I want to teach my children?

             What would I teach my children when I grow up? Today’s topic is easy because I think about what my child would look like when they’re old. Every parents’ minds are same because they want to give the best to their children and teach all they could. However, most things that the parents are trying to teach their children are the things that they had no chance to do so. My dad and my mom always tell me that they want me to learn different kinds of skills. My dad told me that he’s teaching me English because he know that it is important in my life. He says that if he learned English, he would have been better off. The next thing they emphasize is golf. Golf is a sport that you need to play when you grow up. This is extremely important in a adult’s life when they become old and start their business life. Just like my dad, I want to teach many different types of sports and activities if possible.

             The first thing I would like to teach my children is playing golf. This is because I believe that when you become old and become successful, there would be many times when you will play golf. I heard that when you go to the army in Korea, if you are good enough and do field lessons with the army general, you would have many free time off and get more respect. This is the first reason, and the next reason is that when you go out to business, there are many times when you bet money to golf games. In order to win those games, you should be good at golf. This is the reason why I would like my son to play golf.

             Next thing I would like my children to learn is foreign languages. In today’s societies, there are many times when you need to communicate with people who speak different languages from you. I believe that this is important because being able to speak many different languages will give you better opportunities toward jobs. I heard that when you can speak 5 different languages, you are better off than people with 3 different languages. And another reason why I want my children to learn foreign languages is because I think that foreign languages are a good source of job. You can work in a hotel, and act as a translator and get a lot of money. If you get into the habit of learning new languages and using them, you will have a good social life when you become older. This is because you will be able to communicate with people from other countries, and be more close with them.

             I would like to teach my children many different kinds of things including golf, foreign languages. These would be necessary to be successful in their lives.

Should Saipan International School require students to wear uniforms?

             Should Saipan International School have uniforms or not? This is today’s topic. This is a reoccurring topic in most of the schools. I’ve been to schools that require uniforms and schools that don’t. There are both advantages and disadvantages for both. Schools that have uniforms would be more united and have a distinct feature. Schools without uniforms will have their own type of way of showing their personalities. If I was to choose, Saipan International School should not require the use of uniforms.

             Uniforms have advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages in wearing uniforms are that you have to wear same clothes everyday and you will kind of feel bored. Another disadvantage would be that you won’t be able to express your feelings through uniforms. Some students express their personalities through the way they dress up. If you wear uniforms, everyone would look the same and none of them would have their kind of way of styling. However, there are advantages to wearing a uniform. The first advantage is that you don’t have to think daily of how you will be looked upon by other classmates. This is important because if you don’t have uniforms, you stay in front of your closet thinking of which clothes to wear. This is both time consuming and it requires useless time. Another advantage of having a uniform is that you won’t be left out when people are discussing about styles. In schools that require uniforms, all students dress the same, so when people tries to make fun of the way they dress, they are making fun of themselves at the same time. If all students are wearing the same uniforms, there will be less teasing and isolation going on.

             I think that students should be able to wear what you want to wear to school. There should be restrictions on what they wear so they don’t wear anything too inappropriate or exposing or anything like that, but at least not the same thing over and over again every single day. With juts a few restrictions, it would be okay, but seriously no uniforms. It would just make school feel more like a prison rather than a place to learn and educate ourselves. It would bring down our mood and we would be gloomy and learning information would be so much harder because we aren’t happy and focused or interested in anything. Students should be able to not have to wear uniforms and be able to express themselves wearing different types of clothing for different events. Maybe this person really likes the color blue, schools shouldn’t force him to wear white day after day and have him hate it. Uniforms also make a school seem much more boring. All the students and kids there look exactly the same and its so plain, nothing interesting at all. 

             Saipan International School shouldn’t require the students to wear uniforms and let them wear whatever they want because it is somewhat a way to express their feelings and how they could make friends. It is a way of socializing in a school. And uniforms would restrict that.

If I was to bring someone back from the dead, who would it be?

The person I would like to bring back from the dead is Michael Jackson. If I was to bring him back from the dead, I would first serve him with my favorite food. Bulgogi. I heard that he came to Korean before and he enjoyed the time in Korea. When I was a young boy, I regarded him as a role model that I wanted to follow. He had good songs that many people liked and most people considered him as the King of Pop. Even in the generations of my mom and dad, he was considered the king of pop. Everyone practiced thriller and billie jean and tried to perform it on live. He is considered King of Pop not only because he was good at dancing and singing, but because he had this charm that many people liked and couldn’t resist.

Michael Jackson was called the King of Pop because he has been practicing dances and songs from when he was young. He was born on August 29, 1958, Michael Joseph Jackson is the seventh of nine siblings, Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Randy and Janet. The kids, including Michael Jackson was practicing secretly away from their parents.

The Jacksons' musical career started as Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael formed the Jackson 5 in the mid 1960s. The group that was signed to Motown Records in 1968 has opened the road to success, especially for the lead singer Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson didn't fail to succeed. After the Jackson 5 recording fourteen albums, Michael started his solo debut "Got to Be There" in 1972, which included singles "Rockin' Robin" and "I Wanna Be Where You Are." 

            

            Despite his success, everyone will face their destiny. He died of heart attack while he was on his tour to perform. When I first heard that he died from heart attack, I was so surprised. I searched online and it was the first headline in the news. Everyone was shocked that the king of pop died. It sounded like an awkward news because no one expected him to die. He was so popular and not old. He didn’t know that he was going to die and no one did. They said that he had a dance live in some part of the world that he was to perform. However, it was canceled because he died from heart attack.

             Having Michael Jackson come back from the dead to my house would be crazy and fun because he was my role model and I looked up on him. I wish he could come back from the dead and perform as if nothing ever happened.

Should computer games be allowed?

                Should games be allowed? When you are young, you encounter game at least once in your life. There are many advantages and disadvantages playing a game. There are a lot of types of games. My first encounter with games was when I played Maplestory. Maplestory is a RPG game where you hunt monsters and level up. Despite the simplicity, many people started playing and soon it was the number one ranking game in Korea. When I was young, I liked to compete with my friends and determine who was better. At this time, I stayed up until midnight playing the game. However, I later knew that it was bad for my health and eyesights. Therefore, I stopped playing that game for a long time.  As I grew older, I started playing Sudden Attack. Sudden Attack is a FPS game where you shoot other people and lead your team into winning. Everyone likes game and plays it at least one time in their life. However, would games be bad? And would people have to make it not allowed? I am for allowing games. Games should be allowed because if you know how to control, it releases stress, and gives you a fresh mind after all the hard works.

                Games should have their advantages and disadvantages just like any other activities. First advantage is that when you are stressed out from work and you want to relax, game is one way of dispersing the stress. When I was in 10^th grade, there were many times when I was stressed out because of school work and tests. However, I was able to go through this because I played the game Sudden Attack. This was the game where you shoot people. This released my stresss because it made me lessen my stress.

                Despite the advantages, there are also disadvantages. When you play video games or just any type of game, your eyesights become worse. This is the main disadvantages. Even though there are disadvantages, I still think that games should be allowed. Any other things have their own disadvantages. The only thing that a person have to watch out is not to be addicted to it. I saw many instances where a person got addicted to a game and couldn’t figure out the difference between the real life and the game life. They thought that the living world was a type of game. A person in Korea was known to be addicted to Counter strike. This was the game of shooting people. However, the person couldn’t control himself. He later went out and bought a gun and started killing people. However, this is only a small amount of cases. If you control yourself and stop, games would be a stress release and would be fun.

                Games are good and bad in both ways. They have advantages and disadvantages. The first advantage was that it would release stress. However, there are disadvantages that follow. The disadvantages include making your eyesights worse. It also makes the person addicted to it. However, if you control yourself to stop at the line between addiction and just playing for fun, you will be okay. Therefore, games should be allowed.

Define Beauty

                Beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses.  When a person thinks about beauty, they usually think of a girl that is very pretty. However, this isn’t the case with me. When I think of beauty, I usually think of food, cloth, and other stuffs. Beauty does not always have to deal with the facial expression. Beauty can be anything. Of course, the most common usage of beauty is by saying, you are beautiful. When a girl hears this, they become happy because beautiful means that you are pretty and hot. However, beauty does not always have to be that sense of manner. Although many people don’t say beautiful to foods, it can be used upon them. Beautiful is the pleasure of the aesthetic senses, it can be about color, shape, or form of the food. However, I also believe that beauty comes in the face.

                The first and main thought when you hear beauty is when you describe a person’s face or body. A person is beautiful if she has a cute or pretty face. This is the physical mean of beauty. Beauty can not only be described in the face. It can be of a person or a thing. My point of beauty also exists in food. When you see the color of the food, you usually determine if it’s delicious or not. This is the outside or physical beauty. However, the inner beauty might be different. A person with a beautiful face does not mean that she has a beautiful heart. The inner beauty should be focused more. There is a saying that a pretty face does not last long, however, the inner beauty lasts a long time. Therefore, when you marry, you should choose someone not only beautiful, but also who has a generous heart.

                Inner beauty is usually known as the personality of a person. If she has a beautiful inner beauty, that means that she is kind. If you say that the outer beauty is beautiful, you are usually referring to the face.  When you say something is beautiful, you usually think of the outside. In museums, there are many beautiful things that you encounter. The Mona Lisa is considered the most beautiful portrayal. It is considered as the beauty in art. However, if you look closely, she is not really good looking. However, she is considered hot in art. Why would this be? This is because there is an inner beauty that many people do not understand.

                When you think of beauty, Aphrodite comes into mind. She is a Greek god who is considered god of beauty. When you search about beauty, she comes up. This is the outer beauty. When a person describes Aphrodite, you usually describe of the face. They do not talk about how she is inside. There is two types of beauty and each have different types. Aphrodite is beautiful in the outside.

If I was stranded on an island, which three things would I bring?

                If I was stranded on an island, what three things would I bring? This is the topic for today. This is probably an easy topic for me because when you’re young, there are many similar things that are related to this. If I was stranded on an island without any help, I would bring weapons, friends, and foods. This three things are most important in my life. Without my friends, I would be lonely. With friends, I can kill times whenever I want to. Without foods, well no one can survive. Therefore I chose these three things to bring to a stranded island.

                If I am stranded on an island, I would first have to make shelter. Weapons include knives, guns, and other sharp stuff. If I see a predator that tries to attack me, I will use my knife to protect myself. When I run out of food, I will go hunting with the guns. With weapons, I can do anything. I can make fire with guns and I can make food with knives. If I have weapons, I can signal if any plane go by. If you are stranded on an island, you always try to contact the people to come rescue you. Planes usually come and go if you are stranded on an island. The thing is that you miss them. If you have a gun or weapon, you can get the attention of the pilot and hopefully wait until the come to you.

                Next thing I would like to bring is my friends.  Friends are the most important thing in my life because they keep me happy and not bored. When you are stranded on an island, you are alone. At first you might be scared because you have never been to that place. Friends come in handy in these situations. They would help me if I was attacked by predators. They would help me make food. They would stay up until night giving me companion. Friends are important because they can not only talk with you, but you can share your hard feelings with them. If friends are there, I can laugh and talk with them. If you have friends, it makes everything easier. They give you advices when you need help, and if you do anything with your friends, you at least smile. If you are with friends, there would be smile everywhere. You would be teasing each other and laughing. Therefore, friends are important when you are stranded on an island.

                Last thing I would bring would be food. If you are stranded, the first thing you will need is food. The first night would be difficult because there would be no plants or animals that you can gather. IF you have food, you can easily eat them and start search at the morning. Foods are important because it gives you energy to go hunting, fishing, and all sorts of activities. They can also be used as a trap. If you cut a piece of meat and wait, predators would come. You just have to wait with a gun and wait until the predator comes in sight. You can then shoot the animal and get more meat.

                If I was to be stranded on an island, I would bring weapons, friends, and foods. This is because with weapons, I can go hunting and get food, and with friends I can communicate with them and pass time. With food, I can catch animals and eat when I need source of energy.

                So today's topic is what do I want on my tombstone? This is hard... because there are only little amount of time that I spent thinking about my death. Tombstone is a statue in front of a person's grave. I have never thought about my tombstone because no one ever wants to die. I have thought about other people's deaths, but I have never quite thought about my death. However, if I was to write something on my tombstone, I would first write my name and my date of birth and the country that I was born in. I would probably include a picture.

                If I was to write something on my tombstone, it would first be my name. My name is important to me because it tells me who I am. In Korea, there is meaning to each name. My grandfather gave me my name. Everyone has a meaning to their name, and that meaning can be determined by the letters. Each letter in a Korean's name means something. In my name, Kim means gold, Yong means rising dragon, and Kwang means a well. My name means that I will be like a dragon who will one day rise from the well and to the living world. My grandfather thought about this name because he wanted me to be famous. On my tombstone, it would say my Korean name. It would describe who I am and what my name means. Although name might be considered not really important, I personally think that my name is more important than anything in my life. It is what I got from my birth. My grandfather died when I was in age 3. Although I have little information of my grandfather, I heard that he always tried to buy me a lot of stuffs. He was always there when I needed help. He always guided me. He was the one who helped me walk when I was young. He held my hands and guided me to walking. Since my name was given to me by my grandfather, I consider it as the most important thing in my life.

                Next thing I would put on my tombstone would be my date of birth. Date of birth explains how old I am, and when I was born. The date I was born is September 26, 1996. This means that when the day that I die comes, people would know how old I am. They would know when I was born, and where I came from. I was born in Korea, and it describes of who I am Therefore, if I was to put something on my tombstone, I would include my city. It gives my ethnicity and how I would be proud to be a Korean.

                Another thing would be picture. Picture would be the best thing to represent who I am. This would show how I look like and how I would be. Many people look at a person’s face and determine their personality. In my opinion, I think I look kind. Therefore, when people see the picture on my tombstone, they would know that I would be kind if I was alive. I want people to think good about me. The picture would do a good job of doing that.

                Many people have never thought about their tombstone. This is same with me. I have never thought about my death and this is the hardest topic that I have encountered with.

Which has a greater effect on people's lives? Telephone or Television?

            Today's topic is whether deciding either television and telephone. Which has a greater effect on the people's lives? The television has a greater effect on people's lives than the telephone has. This is a topic that comes up often. Television was a lot of people's friends when they were young. However, nowadays, telephone has a greater effect on people's lives. I agree that both of them have a great effect on a person's lfe. Television is more effective when a person is young, and telephone, on the other hand, is more effective when you are older.
Television is a source of media that almost everyone watched at least once in their life. When I was young, I liked to watch the TV. My grandmother always liked to turn on the TV and watched it very close. I liked my grandmother and followed almost everything what she did. i was addicted to TV. Television have a great effect on child. When you watch television, your eyesights become worse. The reason why I am wearing an eyeglass right now is because of my grandmother. I watched it very closely with my grandmother. However, as I became older, I had less time watching the TV.
As technology advanced, more people are using the telephone than the television. Telephone, nowadays, can watch television on it. Telephone has become more affective on a person's life as the time passed. Before, television had a great effect on a person's life because there was no phone, however, after the invention of phone, media became easier. WIth telephone, people can now not only watch TV, but they can play games, and communicate with people. Telephone has a great effect on people's lives because they gave them a communication tool which they can use to interact with many people. Before the invention of telephone, people had to give an email to the person, and the person might not even be able to check that. However, after the invention, people now can easily message or kakao talk a person, and since it is phone, they will instantly get it.
  Telephone is a source of media. Telephone can do almost everything with a wifi connection. There are alot of apps out there that makes you watch TV. They can access other informations easily. With television, there is a limit with only being able to watch a TV show that you have to wait until it comes out. TV shows usually do not come out everyday. You would have to wait one week for that TV show. However, with phone, you can watch previous TV shows and you can just easily download it.  Also, the television can only stay in one place. You have to stay there and watch. People now became tired of that. They want to do many other things while watching the TV. Telephone comes in handy in this time. You can watch the TV and cook, and do other stuffs.
Telephone and television are both crucial media that people encounter in daily life. However, in my point of view, telephone has a greater effect on the people's lives because many people can access not only the internet and play games, but also can watch the TV anywhere.

Describe Success!

            Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Every once in a lifetime, a person thinks of success. Everyone wants to achieve success. Many people think success as money. However, I think that success be can described as happiness. Although you have lots of money, if you’re sad and depressed, you are not really successful. Success can also be expressed in pride.

            Money is the main thought when you think of success. This means that you have lots of money, a big house, and other valuable stuff. However, success doesn’t always have to relate to money. It can be a small amount of achievement. I mean by small achievement by winning a tournament, achieving driver’s license, and other minor things. When you ask a person have you succeeded in life? Many people will think they have not succeeded. They belittle themselves and treat them inferior to others. However, if a person thinks back to his life, there would be at least a small success that he achieved. If I think back to my life, there are a lot of achievements that I did. First one is riding my bicycle. When I was young, I was scared of riding the bicycle alone. I always had my father hold the backside and guide me. I was scared of falling down and scratching myself. However, as I rode together with my father, I thought I could ride it alone. Once, my father was guiding me through and I started to go forward as usual. When I looked back, I was surprised because my father was not holding my seat, and I found out that I was riding the bicycle alone. Small achievements such as this is also treated as a success to me.

            Another successful achievement in my life was beating my dad in arm wrestle. It was last year when I challenged my dad to an arm wrestle. Before last year, I always lost to my dad, however, in 10^th grade, surprisingly, I beat my dad for the first time. I consider this as a success because I’ve never been able to do it for a long time, and it was what I achieved during my life. Small achievements such as this can be considered as success.

            Success in my perspective is happiness. Even though you have a lot of money, if you are left alone without friends or spouse, you can’t call yourself successful. Although money is important, a good wife and friends are considered more important. When you achieve something, there is this weird feeling that comes. I think that it is happiness and pride. When I first got my part time job, I felt as if I was an adult. However, it wasn’t easy work. It was teaching math to my neighbor. I went 3 times a week and earned $100 in one month. After I got the money, I felt successful in my own way and proud.

            Success can be described in many ways, and there are many perspective of other people of success. People think of it as money, and having a good job, others predict it as happiness, pride, and others. Even the smallest achievements can be considered success depending on a person.
